Effects of Artificial Light Spectra and Sucrose on the Leaf Pigments, Growth, and Rooting of Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus) Microshoots

Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are potential light sources for in vitro plant cultures. Here, axillary blackberry shoots were grown MS medium with indole-3-butyric acid (1 mg L−1), naphthalene acetic (0.5 and sucrose supplementation (0–60 g L−1) the cultures incubated under four treatments: three LED treatments (blue + red (2:1 spectral ratio), blue (1:2), cool warm white (1:1)) a standard florescent tube spectrum treatment. Sucrose was indispensable rooting of microshoots. concentrations up to 45 L−1 increased total root length surface area all treatments. However, at this concentration, leaf vegetative growth negatively affected. Plantlets media containing 15–30 exhibited highest pigments, shoot length, number leaves. pigments as compared (2:1) had stoma aperture width, whereas resulted lowest values. Among treatments, area, chlorophyll carotenoid contents, growth, fluorescent A combination 2:1 ratio 30 is recommended optimal
